🇬🇧 Tour: The Cadillac Three & Brothers Osborne

After their amazing set at Download Festival at the weekend, The Cadillac Three have announced they’ll be returning to the UK in November and as if that wasn’t enough, they’re going to be joined by Brothers Osborne!

Having had a taste of their new album with the release of ‘American Slang’ and ‘Dang If We Didn’t’ and a performance of ‘Tennessee’ at Download, I’m excited to hear more of Legacy on the tour.

They’ll be in the UK the same time as Thomas Rhett and Maren Morris, November 2017. The tour starts on the 9th in Belfast at the Mandela Hall and ends in Glasgow at O2 ABC on November 20th. It appears that the Ireland dates will be joined by Broken Witt Rebels and the rest of the UK dates with Brothers Osborne.

The dates are as follows:

9th November – Belfast Mandela Hall
10th November – Dublin Whelans
12th November – Cardiff Y Plas
13th November – Nottingham Rock City
14th November – London O2 Kentish Town Forum
15th November – Norwich UEA
17th November – Birmingham O2 Academy
18th November – Manchester O2 Academy
19th November – Newcastle  O2 Academy

20th November – Glasgow O2 ABC

Legacy is due Friday 25th August.

Zac Brown Band First To Live Stream Concert on Twitter

In this day and age it’s difficult to imagine what can come next in terms of technological advances, but the news of the past few days is incredibly exciting for music fans, particularly as a country music fan in the UK.

As part of a new venture to livestream events, Twitter has teamed up with LiveNation in order to stream concerts on the site. Among the artists revealed, and first to be a part of this phenomenon are Zac Brown Band, who go live from Alpharetta, Georgia on the second night of their tour. This live concert airs on May 13th, one day after the release of the hotly anticipated Welcome Home.

After seeing their stellar performance at C2C this year, I for one cannot wait for the live concert. If successful, it’s great news for UK country fans as not many of the larger artists bring their tours over here, meaning the opportunity to watch them live on Twitter is certainly better than nothing. It’s currently unclear how exactly the live streaming concert will come about, and in the UK it will be in the middle of the night, but be sure to check Twitter on May 13th!

BBMA Nominations Are Out But Where Are the Women?

The Billboard Music Awards nominations have been announced and there’s a noticeable lack of female artists – particularly in the country genre. In a time where the likes of Maren Morris, Kelsea Ballerini, Miranda Lambert and Lauren Alaina regularly feature high in all of Billboard’s top country charts, I only wish they were better represented in the nominations.

With the release of Lambert’s ACM award winning The Weight of These Wings and Morris’ Grammy nominated Hero, it’s surprising that neither made it into the ‘Top Country Album’ category at the least.

The snub hasn’t gone unnoticed either as Maren Morris tweeted saying that it was ‘interesting’ that female artists have been overlooked.

This issue however should not overshadow the achievements of other country artists, notably Luke Bryan, who is nominated in the all-genre category ‘Billboard Chart Achievement Award Presented by Xfinity’ alongside Nicki Minaj, The Chainsmokers, The Weeknd and Twenty One Pilots.

Following their wins at the ACM awards, Florida Georgia Line lead the nominations for country artists at the Billboard Music Awards. The duo are nominated for 6 awards: ‘Top Duo/Group’, ‘Top Country Artist’, ‘Top Country Album’ for Dig Your Roots, two in the category ‘Top Country Song’ for “H.O.L.Y.” and “May We All” featuring Tim McGraw and ‘Top Country Collaboration’ for “May We All”.
