The line up for C2C 2018 has been announced on stage at the Shepherds Bush Empire tonight by Whispering Bob Harris.
Headlining across the 3 days are Kacey Musgraves, Tim McGraw and Faith Hill and Little Big Town. Kelsey Ballerini, Luke Combs, Kip Moore, Midland and Margo Price are also set to perform on the main stage at some point Friday-Sunday. There have been very mixed reactions following this announcement, with many saying Kacey Musgraves isn’t headline material and that Little Big Town performed a few years ago and therefore shouldn’t appear again. Okay so here’s my take on it… Continue reading “Why The C2C Line Up Is Nearly Perfection”
Another Friday, more amazing music releases. This week has been big for new music!
Maren Morris featuring Vince Gill – ‘Dear Hate’
A beautiful track Morris released to raise money for the Last Vegas victims and their families. The track addresses hate and many of it’s actions over the years, before fighting back with the uplifting message that ‘love’s gonna conquer all’.
Luke Bryan – ‘What Makes You Country’
Arguably the best Luke Bryan track yet. It preaches a sentiment I have been living for so long as a UK country fan who loves all styles of country. Falling in love with songs like this is exactly what makes me country. Continue reading “New Music Round-Up”
Yesterday, Friday 8th September, marks a sad day for country music fans and artists alike as we said goodbye to the gentle giant, Don Williams and half of Montgomery Gentry, Troy Gentry.
Williams died Friday morning following a short illness, while Gentry passed away as a result of a helicopter crash en route to show in Medford, New Jersey.
Country artists reacted to this news on social media with tributes and solidarity. Some saw Williams and Gentry as Continue reading “Country Reacts to the Loss of Two Greats”
It’s that time again… the annual CMA Awards Show is nearly here and the nominations are out! Lauren Alaina, Dustin Lynch and TJ & John of Brothers Osborne announced the nominees on GMA this morning.
It’s the first time Alaina has been nominated in any category, and the second time Brothers Osborne have been nominated for vocal duo – they won the first last year. Miranda Lambert leads the nominations with 5 nods including female vocalist of the year and album of the year. Other shoutouts include Chris Stapleton, Maren Morris and Jason Isbell’s surprise nod for The Nashville Sound. Continue reading “CMA Awards Nominations Are Here”
Maddie and Tae are up there as one of my favourite artists to see live. I’ve seen them three times now and they never disappoint. I was at their Manchester gig at the O2 Ritz, and while at first I thought that it was a shame that the venue was smaller than last year at the O2 Academy, it became quickly obvious that it made no difference to the energy in the room. They walked on stage to Brothers Osborne ‘It Ain’t My Fault’ playing while the whole crowd sang along, and opened with the upbeat ‘Your Side of Town’.
I’ve been waiting for new Maddie and Tae music to be released since that performance of ‘Water In His Wine Glass’ in Manchester last October. From this perspective, their set couldn’t have been better with an even split of old and new songs which a few covers thrown in. I’m a huge fan of Right Here, Right Now and the harmonies on ‘No Place Like You’ and the empowering sentiments behind ‘Girl in a Country Song’ and ‘Sierra’ never get old. It’s for exactly those reasons, the harmonies and storytelling, that I need new Maddie and Tae music in my life ASAP. Continue reading “Gig Review: Maddie and Tae “

Country Music Week begins Monday October 2nd but the opening act is yet to be announced. The week is made to show off artists are having a big impact on today’s country music scene. Country Music Week is exciting for UK country fans as it shows that country is growing here as more artists are coming over to perform for English crowds. It makes the wait until C2C seem slightly easier!
While we know that the week takes place over 2nd-8th October 2017, we do not yet have a complete line up.

At 81 years old, Kris Kristofferson just played Glastonbury Festival for the first time. Appearing on the Pyramid Stage on Friday night, Kristofferson opened with my second personal favourite (the first being ‘Sunday Morning Coming Down’), ‘Me and Bobby McGee’.
Despite his age showing through each melancholy verse, each song was performed with such mournful delight and it was truly a pleasure to watch.
He changed the lyrics of ‘Help Me Make It Through the Night’ to sing ‘help me make it through tonight‘, as he had also done months ago at a show in Kansas. This bittersweet moment was one of many throughout his performance. Kristofferson repeatedly ended his songs with ‘I think it finishes there’ or words to that effect, showing that time takes its toll, sparing no one, not even the greats. Kristofferson delivered, though through a fading voice, a devastatingly wonderful set.
If you took nothing from his set today other than an old man in front of a under-appreciative crowd, take this: Kristofferson is the perfect example of why you should never stop striving, and should always do what you love.
After their amazing set at Download Festival at the weekend, The Cadillac Three have announced they’ll be returning to the UK in November and as if that wasn’t enough, they’re going to be joined by Brothers Osborne!
Having had a taste of their new album with the release of ‘American Slang’ and ‘Dang If We Didn’t’ and a performance of ‘Tennessee’ at Download, I’m excited to hear more of Legacy on the tour. Continue reading “🇬🇧 Tour Alert: The Cadillac Three & Brothers Osborne “
