Miley Cyrus To Release New “Countrified” Music

In her feature in the next issue of Billboard Magazine, Miley Cyrus has announced that she will be releasing new music next week, May 11th. This is the perfect time for Miley to make her mark in country as the genre needs more honest female perspectives.

Cyrus is pictured on the cover of the magazine, looking a far cry from her previous endeavours, but beautiful as ever, along with a caption describing her new venture as becoming a, “countrified singer-songwriter”. Her new single, titled ‘Malibu’ has been described as  a, “gimmick-free…breezy love song”. Continue reading “Miley Cyrus To Release New “Countrified” Music”

Brad Paisley Announces First Visual Country Album

This is major!!!!

Brad Paisley announced on Twitter that he will release a visual album for Love and War, much like Beyoncé did for Lemonade. This is a first for country music and I couldn’t think of a better artist to do the honours, given the true country feel and sentimental value of his music videos for the album so far. The preview shows different clips from the recording process as well as appearances from the brilliant artists that collaborate on the album.

Brad Paisley’s Eighties Inspired Video

Brad Paisley’s done it again! First came the touching music video for “Today”, the first single off new album Love and War, followed by a hilarious equivalent for the brilliant, “selfie#theinternetisforever”. Now, he has shared a similar video for new single, “Last Time For Everything”, this time in eighties throwback home-video style, with a title screen straight out of Stranger Things and David Hasselhoff reprising his role as Michael Knight from eighties classic Knight Rider. BBMA Nominations Are Out But Where Are the Women?

The Billboard Music Awards nominations have been announced and there’s a noticeable lack of female artists – particularly in the country genre. In a time where the likes of Maren Morris, Kelsea Ballerini, Miranda Lambert and Lauren Alaina regularly feature high in all of Billboard’s top country charts, I only wish they were better represented in the nominations.

With the release of Lambert’s ACM award winning The Weight of These Wings and Morris’ Grammy nominated Hero, it’s surprising that neither made it into the ‘Top Country Album’ category at the least.

The snub hasn’t gone unnoticed either as Maren Morris tweeted saying that it was ‘interesting’ that female artists have been overlooked. Continue reading “BBMA Nominations Are Out But Where Are the Women?”

Family Table Review

Zac Brown Band have released another single from their upcoming album Welcome Home, along with a lyric video. I love “My Old Man” and “Real Thing” but I think “Family Table” might be my favourite of the new album so far. The song is an ode to a piece of furniture, as well as a heartfelt metaphor for the comfort of family. The lyrics echo this sentiment as ZBB sing, “it’s the cornerstone that held us all up”. EXCITING NEWS!!!

This is the moment we have been waiting for since Traveller was released. Chris Stapleton has tweeted that he is playing a new song tonight on the ACMs!

Although we still don’t have a date for the new album, it is if nothing else, a confirmation that the wait is almost over. I am beyond excited to hear the new music and can’t wait for it’s release to get it on repeat.
