Thomas Rhett announced some big album news today! Following the success of first single (and blog title inspo), ‘Craving You’ featuring Maren Morris, Rhett has shared the title, release date and track listing for his new album Life Changes.
On Monday Rhett teased a new single ‘Unforgettable’, with a cute gif of him and his wife hinting the inspiration for the song, out 28th July.
From the title to the track names, it appears that Life Changes is about exactly that. Despite Rhett leaning toward pop, it is the honesty and storytelling that is evident in every song that always brings him back to good ol’ country.
Between Rhett’s wife Lauren Akins being due any day now and their gorgeous adopted daughter Willa, there have been many life changes for Rhett to consider writing about and it’s refreshing for the subject matter to be so true.
The album features 14 new songs which appear to signify different life stages, fitting with the song title. It begins with ‘Craving You’, followed by ‘Unforgettable’ and then an unheard song, ‘Sixteen’, with many life events happening along the way such as ‘Marry Me’ and the title track ‘Life Changes’, before ending with a song called ‘Grave’.
CMT have revealed that Nashville’s very own Deacon Claybourne aka Charles Esten, will host this year’s CMT awards on June 7th, just days before the cast come over to the UK for Nashville In Concert – first date being June 9th in Birmingham. The actor took to twitter to announce the news in a very Nashville fashion.
A number of performers have also been announced. Luke Bryan, Blake Shelton and Miranda Lambert are among the few who have been revealed so far. Also performing are Brett Eldredge and Thomas Rhett. Will we get more new music previews from either?? We can but hope!
Nominations will be announced May 9th and voting will be open until just two days before the show.
More performers and presenters should be announced in the coming weeks!
Both artists are performing at this years CMA Fest in the Nissan Stadium, Ballerini on the Friday night, and Rhett on the Saturday night. The duo feature in an incredible line up of country artists including headliners, Luke Bryan, Blake Shelton, Florida Georgia Line and Brad Paisley. Other acts that will perform over the weekend, across various stages, include Brothers Osborne, Chris Janson, Miranda Lambert, Lauren Alaina, Rascal Flatts. Brett Young, Maren Morris, Maddie and Tae, Chris Stapleton and Keith Urban to name a few.
Besides the lack of Carrie Underwood across the weekend, the only other downside for me is that I can’t be there as I am in the UK, which is super disappointing as the CMA Fest is one of the best celebrations of country music.
CMA Fest 2017 takes place June 8-12. To discover the artists playing over the weekend click the link below.
